Our THREE-YEAR DIPLOMA course in Musical Theatre runs from September to July each academic year and provides exceptional training in singing, dancing and acting, working towards consolidating technical and performance skills with just under 50 hours of practical tuition per week including a weekly one-to-one singing lesson.
The course is accompanied by a Level 6 Professional Diploma in Performing Arts.
Using our direct links with the World's professional entertainment industry, our aim is for all students to graduate with an agent or into professional work, as diverse and employable performers ready for a life in the performing arts industry.
Prospective students (aged 18 and above) must have a strong passion for the performing arts and a solid technical training in singing, acting and dancing, with the determination to be the best they can be. They must be prepared for a tough schedule of classes each week, including body conditioning and stretch classes.
All tuition takes place at our studio complex in Canterbury, Kent, led by our incomparable faculty of leading industry professionals.
Each year includes two performance opportunities at the nearby Malthouse Theatre, including an Industry Showcase (in March) performed to an invited audience of agents and casting directors and a full-scale musical production (in July) to give our students the chance to experience a professional rehearsal process.
A typical day at JGHA will start at 8.30am with a company warm-up and include Ballet, Jazz, Acting, Voice and Singing, finishing at 5.30pm. We will also offer weekly classes in Tap, Contemporary, Commercial, Musicianship, Audition Technique and Acrobatics.
